Old Palestinian wedding tradition

Old Palestinian wedding tradition

From one of the most beautiful villages in Palestine, which is famous for its organic agriculture and battiri aubergine, I went to document an ancient tradition, practices mainly by women, who gather at the house of the groom and sift through cracked wheat to remove dirt from it as they sign traditional wedding songs and praise the bride and the groom. The wheat is to be later used in a lamb dish. This practice is dying out and is now only practiced in few villages in Palestine.
