Heba Albaw Story
Heba Albaw, 21 years old, from Abu-dees/ Jerusalem
“I was born and grew up in Amman, and I currently attend the University of Jordan to study Korean and English languages. But drawing is my real passion. I have been drawing since I was 12 years old, I used to draw on the walls of my house, the seats at my school, and my exam papers. I didn’t start participating in art exhibitions in Amman until my first year at the university when I got the opportunity to draw in the drawing room.
I recently received the university’s Annual Award for Student Cultural Creativity. For me, drawing is the best way for expressing my thoughts, emotions, and worldview. If I’m sad, I’ll draw to feel happy, and if I’m happy, I’ll draw to feel even happier.
I also would like to learn how to sculpt, because I want to carve a Palestinian statue where I belong, in the middle of Jerusalem.”
