Alaa Abu Heikel’s

“I inherited the stone sculpture profession from my father and grandfathers, but it wasn’t my job until one day while I was in old Jeruslaem and brought a stone with me, and made the Dome of the Rock sculpture. I believe that we witness the history of the places through their stones, and the Plaestinian artists can document our history through many art fields’ ‘.

In addition to the Dome of the Rock sculpture, we can see many other fascinating stone sculptures from Alaa Abu Heikel’s works like: The Golden Gate in Jerusalem and the Ibrahimi Mosque (the Cave of the Patriarchs) in his home town Hebron.

Alaa’s art works are very unique due to the fact that it’s not just beautiful stone sculptures but also because of the connection he makes between the stones and the historical places.
