Kosai El Tamimi

‏”My name is Kosai El Kasrawi El Tamimi, and I am 19 years old and from Hebron.

I started riding bicycles one and a half years ago when I joined the “Khalil el-Rahman” bicycle team. This team organizes tracks in various Palestinian areas throughout the year, and in all weather conditions. I’ve been riding a bike since I was a little kid, but it was only in the neighborhood, Only when I joined the team did I notice the major change and improvement in my hobby, The beginning was not easy, I still remember how exhausted I was in my first bike track, but my passion and the joy I feel when I visit new places make me forget about my exhaustion.

In addition to the tracks with the team, I challenged myself to ride a 250-kilometer solo journey from Hebron to Jenin, beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 11:00 p.m., and returning to Hebron the next morning.

It was an interesting track, full of challenges such as occupation checkpoints, detour and hard roads between settlers’ vehicles, not to mention the cold weather and stray dogs.

I chose Jenin because I love this city and its camp, where many people have been martyred and injured or are now in prisons, and I wish to see my land free so that I can ride my bike to Jerusalem, Gaza, Haifa, and Acre without being restricted by the occupation”
