Mahmoud Mohammad Abualish

“His painful death was shown on Al Jazeera, like many other heartbreaking scenes we’ve witnessed. This time, it was my brother Mahmoud, who was killed while wounded, sitting in a wheelchair at the entrance of Kamal Adwan Hospital.”

“Mahmoud Mohammad Abu Alalish, 18, from Jabalia camp, was a responsible young man who worked at a clothing store and relied on himself. He was our eldest and only brother among four sisters.”

“On December 5, 2024, after a devastating war in Jabalia, we ran out of water. Mahmoud decided to go out to fetch some, and while he was still near the house entrance, a quadcopter targeted him. He was mildly injured in his legs, with a few pieces of shrapnel in his neck. We rushed him to Kamal Adwan Hospital.”

“An hour after Mahmoud arrived at the hospital, news came that the occupation forces were planning to raid it. My uncle, Belal Mohammad Saleh, came to take Mahmoud out because he couldn’t walk. Mahmoud and my uncle were determined to leave the hospital, but as they were leaving, a quadcopter targeted them again. This time, both Mahmoud and my uncle were killed.”

“We lost Mahmoud, our only brother, and our uncle, who had gotten married just two weeks before the war and had recently become a father to a child he never got the chance to celebrate. We lost them both together and couldn’t even say goodbye because of the harsh siege on Jabalia camp.”

We received a message on our platform from his sister, Faten Mohammad. One of the photos shows Belal Saleh.
