Hadeel and Her Family

On October 14, 2023, Hadeel, along with her husband and their four children, as well as their extended family, were martyred in the Israeli airstrike aggression. This tragic event resulted in the loss of 16 members of the Mahmoud Al-Khayyat family, including his wife, children, and grandchildren.

There’s one thing echoing in my ears , The voice of Eileen and Celine, my sister’s daughters, and their famous phrase on the phone: ‘Take us to your place, Uncle.’ Can I come to you, Uncle?”

“My sister Hadeel. My older sister, who raised and educated me.She walked me to school.And protected me in childhood fights .She taught me to love and respect women, valuing their rights.and introduced me to books, and used to buy me novels” 

“Hadeel, the high achiever in the education ministry. They know her by her high grades and distinctive educational plans. Her students mourn her now, recalling their memories of her as their physics teacher.”

“My sister, who worked while raising  her angelic daughters, tended to her home and husband.”

“This is my sister Hadeel, whom many students, who couldn’t afford private tuition fees, yet succeeded and progressed to university.”

“Hadeel guided me through life’s challenges, in my alienation, during my educational journey, my happiness, and my sorrow.”

“Israel brutally killed her along with her children in one room. Safe in her home, yet fearful of war and death.”

“Hadeel, contrary to what people say about Gaza, was afraid. My beloved Hadeel,  What a cursed world it will be without you?”
