Mona Shahen Story

My name is Mona Shahen, and I am a veterinarian as well as an environmental and climate activist from Haifa.

I saw it as our responsibility to work on raising awareness of environmental issues in the midst of the society’s increasing consumption lifestyle, because I believe that living in a clean environment will improve our health and social lives, and especially we as an arab palestenian society should understand how important it is to save our nature, which will prove our belonging and identity to our land and heritage. Therefore, as a member of the group “Bahrna” (Our Sea), which includes some environmental activists, we aim to raise awareness through workshops, guiding, and organizing learning trips about environmental and sea life issues. and we will continue our activities because life on Earth would become impossible if we do not start changing things now.”
