Azem Abu Daqqa

“I had the pleasure of working with Azem for two years in the field, serving marginalized farmers and poor fishers. He was the epitome of a noble man who helped others quietly, without seeking thanks or recognition. I only ever saw a pure heart in him and a genuine love for helping others. Azem was the perfect example of someone who combined hard work with high morals. I will never forget his kindness to me and to others—he was truly loved by everyone.”
From his friend Ali Albatta’s page

“This man’s dedication to helping our displaced people in the southern Gaza Strip was immense. He put in every effort to reach the displaced and ease their suffering, despite the challenges. I remember when we were working on preparing the ‘Al-Likaa’ camp for the displaced. He reached out to me and helped supply the camp with 20 tents through his workplace until we completed it. Losing Azem and his colleagues is a tremendous loss.”
From Sa’ed Kamal Qadeh’s page.

On November 30, 2024, Azem and four of his colleagues, including his brother-in-law Aahd Qadeh and his friend Mohammad Alnamla, were killed in an airstrike targeting the “World Central Kitchen” vehicle while they were carrying out their humanitarian duties.

The information and quotes are sourced from the pages of Ali Albatta, Said Kamal Qudieh, the Palestine Education News page, and Azem Abu Daqqa’s page. The photos show Azem with his sister, Safeya, inside the greenhouse of their hydroponic project.
