Janan Abdu Story

Janan Abdu living in Haifa

“My passion for arts leads me to practice (Painting). My work is related to my life experiences, that’s why it’s realistic drawings.

Like many Palestinians whose lives have been changed because of bad circumstances, we are facing every day. My husband has been arrested politically for 9 years. I had to stop working in a community job and decided to study law and engage in defending the rights of prisoners. Also, this is reflected in my artwork, I draw the Palestinian nature, cities, and remained or destroyed villages. The Palestinian women’s status, body, and dreams with all social and political struggles.

These days working on my own gallery, purely art’s is the space that I can tell my life story through.”
