Aisha Abdul Ghani Hlehel from Qaddita northwest of Safad, was born in 1941. She was one of those displaced in 1948 to a village in south Lebanon, then to Rashidiyeh Camp, where she still lives. She has seven children, one of whom was martyred during Israel’s 1982 invasion of Lebanon. Her story with the embroidered fabric began four years ago. when she decided to draw her Palestinian heritage on small pieces of fabric. With time, her knowledge of embroidery increased, all with personal effort. So she started making paintings embroidered with beads, including the Palestinian flags she loves most and many others. She said that her love for life is the biggest incentive to do what she loves.
