Mohanad Samamq Story

My name is Mohanad Samamq, I’m 25 years old.

I was born and raised in the old town of Gaza. I watched so many modern dance and hip-hop videos on youtube and practiced them in front of the mirror since I was a kid. But due to the lack of dance teachers and interest in this kind of art in Gaza; I had to learn the dance moves by myself. Knowing how hard it is for a man to practice this hobby in Gaza didn’t stop me and I worked hard to define this art in my society. Over time, I improved my dance skills, made a dance team with 6 dancers, and started teaching them how to use their body language to express feelings about immigration, losses, cultural blockade, and geographic siege through modern dance”.
