Khalil Abu Yahya (Al-Batsh)

Khalil Abu Yahya (Al-Batsh), 27 years old, was a writer and researcher. His path in life wasn’t easy, but he was determined

Nine years ago, Khalil’s father was diagnosed with a serious illness. Khalil took charge of all the household responsibilities and continued his education.He was really close to his dad and supported him during treatment.

He worked hard to study for a master’s degree abroad. He got accepted into SOAS Uni  in London and other Universities, but couldn’t go due to travel restrictions and a siege.

Despite all the challenges , he managed to earn his master’s degree in Palestinian studies.

In September 2023, he started working as a university lecturer and had plans to finish his PH.D. However, on October 30, 2023, Khalil, along with his wife Tasnim, his mother, and two young daughters, tragically were killed in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza.
